Background of Establishments
This section provides information on the name of the establishment, location and contact address. It also provides information on the type of ownership, type of organization (sole proprietorship, partnership, etc.) and the main goods and services produced.
Policy Objectives and Outcomes
This section collects information on the establishment's involvement in the implementation of any policy objectives in the 2006 budget. The major areas covered are: 1. Macroeconomic policies which include Capital Market Development, Microfinance, Tax credits and incentives and Revenue rationalization 2. Employment Growth Sectors which include Agro-processing, ICT, Tourism and Hospitality, Pharmaceuticals, Mining and Non-Traditional Exports. 3. President's Special Initiatives (PSIs) covering cassava starch production, oil palm, salt and textiles 4. Employment generation programmes such as the National Youth Employment Programme and Rural Enterprise Development Programme 5. Institutional strengthening 6. Construction Information was also collected on the sources of funding.
Jobs Created and Persons Hired
This section provides information on the jobs created or the persons hired between January and Sepember 2006. The jobs are first categorized by Nature of Employment (Permanent, Temporary, Casual, Piece rate, etc.) by male and female. The jobs created are further categorized by profession (Technical, Administrative/mangerial, Clerks and service-relaed workers), by Ghanaian and Non-Ghanaian and by age groupings.
Job Losses and Layoffs
This section provides information on the job losses (including resignations) or layoffs between January and Sepember 2006. The jobs are first categorized by Nature of Employment (Permanent, Temporary, Casual, Piece rate, etc.) and by male and female. The job losses are further categorized by profession (Technical, Administrative/mangerial, Clerks and service-related workers, by Ghanaian and Non-Ghanaian and by age groupings.
Net Jobs Created
This section provides information on the net jobs created (differences betwenn jobs created and job losses) between January and Sepember 2006. The jobs are first categorized by Nature of Employment (Permanent, Temporary, Casual, Piece rate, , etc.) by male and female. The jobs created are further categorized by profession (Technical, Administrative/mangerial, Clerks and service-relaed workers), by Ghanaian and Non-Ghanaian and by age groupings.
Tax Incentives
The section provides information on the tax incentives that establishments have accessed during the period of the study. The tax reliefs available include: Reduction in corporate tax, Venture Capital Tax Incentives, Tax Relief for Youth Employment, Domestic Content Tax Incentive and Employment of Persons with Disabilities.
On the Job Training and Internships
This section provides information regarding On-the-Job Training, Internships, Industrial Attachement and Vacation Employment. These are disagregated by Male, Female and the duration of the training. The section also provides information on the acquisition of assets like lands/buildings and raw materials as well as meeting working capital as a result of these interventions.
Microfinance, Loans and Grants
This section provides information on the types of loans and grants received and the purpose for which these were acquired. It also provides information on the sources of funding.
Implementation of National Youth Employment Programme
This section provides information on establishments' involvement in the implementation of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) The information includes the level of participation and the modules being implemented.
Personnel Trained and Placed in Jobs
This section provides information on establishments' involvement in the implementation of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) and the number of personnel trained and placed in jobs under the programme.
Construction Works Done
This section provides information on construction works and projects undertaken by establishments during the period January-September 2006. The contracts entail New Construction, Renovation and both types of project. Some of the projects include schools, housing, office buildings, markets, community centres, health facilities, roads and bridges, dams and irrigation, water, plumbing, roofing and interior decoration.
Job Positions in Establishments
This section provides information on job positions available in the establishment as at September 2006. The job are categorized according to the job position (Professional/Technical, Management/Administrative, etc.), the minimum entry requirements, additional skills and competencies, minimum number of years of experience and the number at post. Information is also gathered on the remuneration attached to the post and the number of vacancies available.
Job Vacancies in Establishments
This section provides information on job vacancies available in the establishments as at September 2006. The jobs are categorized according to the job position (Professional/Technical, Management/Administrative, etc.), availability of persons with the required skills and qualification, methods for filling these vacancies and reasons for not filling the existing vacancies.
Job Quality and Labour Market Indicators
This section provides information on the quality of jobs and labour market indicators. These include wages, overtime and shifts at work, unionization, industrial and labour disputes. The information also includes issues relating to the resolution of disputes, the use of protective clothing and other staff welfare facilities.
