    Series Information

    Since 1990, BPS through Susenas collecting core data and the module data every year. Susenas modules is divided into three major groups, that is module socio-cultural and educational, modules housing and health, module household consumption and household expenditure, implementation of each module is every three years.

    Abstract

    National Socio-Economic Survey, abbreviated Susenas is a household survey conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) every year. The survey covers a variety of target data (module) i.e. module consumption / expenditure, education, health, social, cultural, criminal, and housing and the environment. Data collection for each module is usually done on a regular basis, generally three (3) years or as needed. Susenas is one of the activities of the Improvement projects and development BPS Statistics.

    Activities of fiscal year 1989/1990 (Susenas 90) concentrated on the collection of detailed data on the consumption / expenditure population. Besides, it also collected some information about health, particularly with regard to a variety of costs incurred for the public health needs. The latter is an integration module between the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Health with the Central Bureau of Statistics. Activities of fiscal year 1989/1990 (Susenas 90) concentrated on the collection of detailed data on the consumption / expenditure population. Besides, it also collected some information about health, particularly with regard to a variety of costs incurred for the public health needs. The latter is an integration module between the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Health with the Central Bureau of Statistics.

    The data collected is expected to be used both as a baseline and as an indicator of socio-economic population always being developed and refined.

    a. Core data (Kor)

    Core data is main information of population characteristics which explains the module data, core data i.e.:

    1. Names of household members.

    2. Relationship to head of household.

    3. Sex.

    4. Age.

    5. Marital status.

    6. Education.

    Considering health data of individual respondents (people) then asked demographic information along with the collection of health data.

    b. Target Data (Module)

    Target data is detailed data collected in a survey. Data Susenas 1990 was:

    1. Consumption / Household expenditure, differentiated according to the consumption / expenditure for food and non-food. Also included in this module description of the income / revenue households, differentiated by type of income sources such as wages / salaries, agriculture, non-agricultural businesses, and revenue / income.

    2. Health, particularly data on sickness, pregnancy, and childbirth as well as costs incurred for needs it.

    The 1990 Susenas include as many as 49.000 sample households spread across all districts / cities in Indonesia, households that are located in specific enumeration areas and specific households that are located in a regular enumeration area are not chosen as samples.

    Sampling Procedure

    Design of 1990 Susenas sampling is a three-phase sampling design, sampling methods are used for both urban and rural areas are the same.

    Phase 1, the enumeration-selected enumeration areas selected SP1990 pps with a number of enumeration areas in large size M0S in each enumeration area. (M0S: Measurement of Size is used for SP1990, in this case the number of households).

    Phase 2, from each selected enumeration areas, selected a group of segments in pps to size the number of households in each segment group. (Segment group is comprised of a segment that has clear boundaries and has a household of about 70 households).

    The first phase election was conducted by BPS / the second stage by the KS of Districts and third stage by Supervisor / the KS Staff of regency / Municipality.
