Definition

Neighborhood (RT) and Rukun Kampung (RK) / Pillars of Citizens (RW) is a community organization that is recognized and fostered by the government to maintain and preserve the values of Indonesian society that is based on mutual support and family as well as to help improve the convenience of the government, and community development in rural and urban villages.
In terms of size, the RT is usually smaller than RW / RK. Number of families / households in the RT is usually smaller than 30 families / households for rural and 50 for urban. Of each RW / RK usually consists of at least 2 RT 3 RT in the village and municipality (Permendagri 5 Th 1981 on the establishment of the village and the village environment, Article 4)
