    Central Bureau of Statistics function to provides the data necessary to the development of sectoral and regional planning. In the framework of regional development of data relating to the potential of an area is a major input into consideration when policy makers and planners make a priority. At the lowest level, the potential of the rural areas should contribute and function to together in planning macro integrated rural development. For example, in the context of poverty alleviation programs PODES data used to identify villages suspected as potential area inhabited by many poor people - these villages became known as the village behind.

    BPS keep records of the potential of an area of the village, that known as Podes since 1980 in conjunction with the implementation of the Population Census 1980, that later PODES data collection conducted in conjunction with the holding of a census. In the span of 10 years, collecting data Podes done 3 times, which is in conjunction with the implementation of the Population Census, Census of Agriculture, and Economic Census. As part of the implementation of the 2000 Population Census, the data Podes along with the 2000 Census results can be used as the building block of small area statistics (small area statistics), for the first time produced by BPS.

    Abstract

    SP2000 Podes enumeration was conducted on the entire village or villages across Indonesia. In addition to the village or villages, that are also enumerated in This SP2000 is a Podes Transmigration Settlement Unit (UPT) or Transmigration Settlement Unit (SPT) and Community Settlement Isolated (PMT).     Podes enumeration in the census done by the whole village / urban interior minister whose existence is based SK / SK Governor, all Transmigration Resettlement Unit (UPT), and the rest of Isolated Human Settlements (PMT). Enumeration is done by direct interview with the head of the village / village chief or staff appointed to represent him. SP2000 Podes enumerators make 1 double and then sent to the BPS district / municipality to be processed.
