Description The report contains an analysis of Tonga’s recent population growth and dynamics, in particular the level, trends and patterns of fertility, mortality, and migration. The likely impacts of some of these dynamics on wider cross-cutting issues, such as the environment, health, education and economic activity, are discussed. The report also presents a set of population projections to provide planners and policy-makers with scenarios of the size and structure of Tonga’s future population with the aim of assisting decisionmakers to effectively plan for the needs of different population groups at different points in time.
