EDSR III - Questionnaire Ménage

Description Le Questionnaire Ménage a été utilisé pour lister tous les membres habituels et les visiteurs des ménages sélectionnés. Des informations de base sur les caractéristiques de chaque personne ont été collectées, y compris l'âge, le sexe, l'éducation et le lien avec le chef de ménage. L'objectif principal du Questionnaire Ménage était d'identifier les femmes et les hommes éligibles pour des interviews individuelles. Le Questionnaire Ménage a aussi permis de collecter des informations sur les caractéristiques du ménage, telles que la principale source d'approvisionnement de l'eau de boisson, le type de toilettes, le type de matériau du sol, la principale source d'énergie pour la cuisson, la possession de certains biens durables, la possession et l'utilisation de moustiquaires et le type de sel utilisé dans le ménage pour la cuisine. En outre, des questions étaient posées concernant le type d'aide ou de support reçu par la population vulnérable, c'est-à-dire, les personnes très malades ainsi que les enfants orphelins et vulnérables. Ce questionnaire a également été utilisé pour enregistrer les personnes éligibles pour les mesures anthropométriques (poids et taille) ainsi que les tests d'hémoglobine et du VIH.

EDSR III - Questionnaire Individuel Femme

Description Le Questionnaire Femme a été utilisé pour collecter des informations sur toutes les femmes en âge de procréer (15-49 ans). Les questions ont porté sur des sujets très variés tels que :

- les caractéristiques sociodémographiques des enquêtées ;
- l'historique des naissances ;
- la connaissance et l'utilisation des méthodes contraceptives ;
- les préférences en matière de fécondité ;
- les soins prénatals, pendant l'accouchement et post-partum ;
- l'allaitement et les pratiques d'alimentation des enfants ;
- la vaccination et les maladies des enfants ;
- le mariage et l'activité sexuelle ;
- les caractéristiques du conjoint et le travail de la femme ;
- le sida et les autres infections sexuellement transmissibles ;
- la mortalité adulte ;
- la violence domestique.

EDSR III - Questionnaire Individuel Homme

Description Le Questionnaire Homme a été administré à tous les hommes de 15-59 ans dans un ménage sur deux de l'échantillon de l'EDSR-III. Le Questionnaire Homme a permis de collecter le même type d'informations que celles contenues dans le Questionnaire Femme ; cependant, il était plus court car ne contenant pas des questions concernant l'historique des naissances, la santé de la mère et des enfants ou la nutrition.

EDSR III - Household Questionnaire

Description The Household Questionnaire was used to list all of the usual members and visitors in the selected households. Some basic information was collected on the characteristics of each person listed, including age, sex, education, and relationship to the head of the household. The main purpose of the Household Questionnaire was to identify women and men who were eligible for the individual interview.
The Household Questionnaire also collected information on characteristics of the household’s dwelling unit such as the main source of drinking water, type of toilet facilities, materials used for the floor of the house, the main energy source used for cooking, ownership of various durable goods, ownership and use of mosquito nets, and the type of salt used for cooking. In addition, questions were asked about the type of assistance or support received by vulnerable members of the population such as the very ill, and orphaned or otherwise vulnerable children. The questionnaire was also used to register people eligible for anthropometric (height and weight) measurements and the collection of samples for hemoglobin and HIV testing.

- Breastfeeding and child feeding practices
- Vaccinations and childhood illnesses
- Marriage and sexual activity

- AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections

- Domestic violence

EDSR III - Man's Questionnaire

Description The Men’s Questionnaire was administered to all men age 15-59 years living in every second household of the RDHS-III sample. The Men’s Questionnaire collected information similar to that of the Women’s Questionnaire, but was shorter because it did not contain questions on reproductive history, maternal and child health, or nutrition.

Description Ce rapport présente les principaux résultats de la troisième Enquête Démographique et de Santé au Rwanda (EDSR-III), réalisée de février à juillet 2005 par la Direction de la Statistique (devenue depuis septembre 2005 Institut National de la Statistique du Rwanda).

L'EDSR-III a été réalisée avec l'appui financier de l'USAID et de la Commission Nationale de Lutte contre le SIDA (CNLS) à travers le Projet d'Appui au Programme Multisectoriel de Lutte contre le SIDA de la Banque Mondiale (MAP). D'autres sources de financements comprennent l'UNICEF, l'UNFPA, le DFID et la GTZ. L'étude a aussi bénéficié de l'expertise d'autres organismes nationaux tels que le Centre de Recherche et de Traitement sur le Sida (TRAC), le Laboratoire National de Référence et le Service National de Recensement (SNR). L'assistance technique a été fournie par le programme mondial des Enquêtes Démographiques et de Santé (Demographic and Health Surveys - MEASURE DHS) de ORC Macro, dont l'objectif est de collecter, analyser et diffuser des données démographiques portant, en particulier, sur la fécondité, la planification familiale, la santé de la mère et de l'enfant et le VIH. Ce rapport est l'œuvre des auteurs et ne représente pas nécessairement la politique de l'USAID ni celle des autres organismes de coopération.

Description This report presents the findings of the 2005 Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (RDHS-III), carried out from February to July 2005 by the Direction de la Statistique (renamed Institut National de la Statistique du Rwanda in September 2005).

Funding for the RDHS-III was provided by USAID, the Commission Nationale de Lutte contre le SIDA (CNLS) through the World Bank’s Multi-County AIDS Program (MAP), Unicef, UNFPA, DFID and GTZ.
