Market prices and parallel market exchange rate data will also continue to be collected 16 locations across the country. The HFSSS program will also strengthen the NBS capacity in new and innovative data collection methods, data analysis techniques, and data dissemination strategies, complementing information collected through traditional surveys. The work of the NBS has been considered a success to date, and the World Bank continues to provide extensive technical assistance to strengthen their capacity and ensure that high quality data continues to be collected and disseminated to policy makers and other stakeholders. The initiative is designed by the World Bank, jointly implemented with the South Sudan National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and funded by a Trust Fund from DfID and the Multi Donor Trust Fund for Sustainable Logistics. The Market Price Survey (MPS) has been conducted in 6 major towns since 2012 and were recently expanded to 16 locations. This version is a data extract from July 7th, 2017. The dataset has 62,646 observations and 6 variables from 2012 to September 2017. It contains weekly price data for 36 consumer items for 17 locations.
