        <![CDATA[The Household Budget Survey 2006 was conducted by Institute of Statistics of Albania (INSTAT) on a sample of 6025 households, which ensures the description of consumption expenditures of the households.

The Household Budget Survey is a statistical survey which is carried out at the household level and gives an overview of the socio-economic situation of the Albanian households. The results of this survey are also used to update the Consumer Price Index and Final Consumption calculation households as an important aggregate of GDP by the expenditure method.]]>

          <![CDATA[Sampling was done in two steps, the first of which with stratification, stratification based on 12 + 1 prefectures in Albania, the first step units are neutral and registration areas while the second step units are households. Choosing both steps is done randomly by providing a representation both in terms of level, as well as the area's prefecture urban-rural residence.
Total households sampled was divided into 4 sub-samples of three months which geographically dispersed homogeneously throughout the year, making it possible to reflect changes seasonally.]]>

          <![CDATA[Data collection is based on two different ways of gathering information:

- Completion of a diary by families for 14 days next that recorded expenses for purchasing products / services of wide consumption and, whenever the conditions, the completion of a diary specifically for subsistence where family records only products manufactured and consumed during the 14 days of the reference, estimated price that would be paid to buy in the nearest shop.

- Making a direct interview (oral) by enumerators through a questionnaire including questions on costs with greater value and more rarely purchase frequency, grouped and separated according to specific topics. At the same questionnaire also included questions on socio-demographic data components that will serve family during family budget analysis in patterns of families.]]>
