Timor-Leste has conducted two censuses in 2004 and 2010 since its independence. The Government of Timor-Leste with support from United Nations Population and Fund (UNFPA) undertook the second Population and Housing Census in July 2010. The objective of 2010 Timor-Leste Population and Housing Census is to collect demographic and socio-economic data required for decision making. The census collected data on: - Size, composition and spatial distribution of the population - Levels of education attained by the population - Size and deployment of the labour force - Prevalence of disability and its spread - Levels of fertility, mortality and migration - Rate and pattern of urbanization - Housing conditions and availability of social amenities - Participation in agricultural production. Census/enumeration data [cen] The scope of the Timor-Leste Population and Housing Census 2004 includes: - Population (age & sex) and households (National, district, urban/rural, sub-district, suco and aldeia; Sex ratio, density, average household size) - Religion - Citizenship - Mother tongue - Marital status - Movement of people - Education - Labor force - Disability - Birth registration of children 0-5 years - Place delivery and assistance during delivery of last live birth - Housing conditions (ownership, materials of - wall, roof and floor) - Household amenities (drinking water, energy for cooking & lighting, sanitation, selected household goods -radio, phone, motorcycle, etc) - Households involved in Crop production and Livestock rearing - Production of crops (rice, maize, cassava, vegetables, fruits, coffee, coconut) - Number of livestock (chickens, pigs, sheep, goats, horses, cattle/cow, buffalo) Direcção Nacional de Estatística No sampling - whole universe covered Face-to-face [f2f] The census questionnaire designed for households was available in four languages: Tetun, Portuguese, English and Indonesian. Copies of the English, Portuguese and Tetum questionnaires are included in this Website.
