L'Enquête Démographique et de Santé du Togo 1998 est la seconde EDS réalisée au Togo après celle de 1988.

L'univers de l'enquête est l'ensemble de la population et au niveau des sous-populations des femmes de 15 à 49 ans, des hommes 15 à 59 ans.

Face-to-face
Les opérations de saisie et de contrôle ainsi que l'apurement et la tabulation des données ont été réalisés sur micro-ordinateur à la Direction de la Statistique au moyen du logiciel ISSA (Integrated System for Survey Analysis) développé par Macro. La saisie des questionnaires a commencé une semaine seulement après le début de la collecte, le 16 février 1998. Elle était assurée par une dizaine de personnes. La saisie s'est poursuivie parallèlement à la collecte jusqu'au 18 juin 1998.
