| Abstract | The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, known as Rio+20) called for the convening in 2014 of a third international conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS). National level preparations that feed into regional preparations, has brought forward issues and challenges of the SIDS. Similar to the other Caribbean Small Island Developing States, Suriname faces many multi-dimensional issues. An integrated approach to sustainable development is required for Suriname to address the challenges. |
