| Abstract | This study analyzes the effect of the age of children on female labor supply in Vietnam. Two major contributions of this research to the literature are: (a) expanding AIDS Kooreman and Kapteyn (1985) model by adding savings variable as a new variable; (b) extending the age of children into 3 groups to measure its effect on female labor supply. The pooled time series and cross-sections of the Vietnam Household Living Standard Surveys of years 1998-2010 are used in this study. The result indicates that there exists an inverted U-shaped relationship between female labor supply and the age of children. Another result is that women are more sensitive with wage changes than men. |
