Waste management is the collection, transport, processing, recycling or disposal of waste materials
produced by human activity, and is generally undertaken to reduce their effect on health, the environment or
aesthetics. This work is aimed at assessing the level of recycling and waste management practices carried out in the
State, proffer possible solutions for effective take off and running of recycling programs and creating an awareness on
the environmental and economic potentials and benefits in the waste management/ recycling industry which has not
been given a proper attention as that given to other industries by the State Government and the Federal Government.
