Abstract | The financial sector always plays the central role in development and economic growth, so the relationship between financial development and economic growth appears to be essential. Government in oil exporting countries, relying on oil revenues, has the possibility of extensive arrival to financial markets and different changes in it. Thus, employment in this sector is very important and efficient recruiting will stimulate booming in the financial intermediation sector. Therefore, in this paper, using the shift-share analysis and spatial coefficient index, investigated the employment in financial intermediation sector of whole country and separately for urban, rural and non-resident over the period 2006-2011. The results indicate that some of the provinces in financial intermediation sector have negative regional share effect and more than half have positive effect and expressing comparative advantage of regions in this sector. In nonresident regions, financial intermediation has negative regional share effect and in urban and rural regions, most of the provinces have positive regional share effect. Employment related to financial intermediation sector in the provinces of Ilam, Tehran, Semnan and Yazd is considered as basic activities and in urban regions of the provinces of Ilam, Tehran, Semnan and Yazd and in rural regions of the provinces of Ilam, Bushehr, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, South Khorasan, Semnan, Fars, Kerman, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Golestan, Gilan, Mazandaran, Hormozgan and Yazd and in non-resident regions of the provinces of Sistan and Baluchistan, Fars, Ghazvin and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad are considered as basic activities. |
