Description
Definition
VACJEYR_NP reports the year (according to Vikram Samvat, the official calendar in Nepal) that children received the Japanese encephalitis vaccination. This information is only available for children born in the 3 to 5 years before the survey, whose Japanese encephalitis vaccination date was recorded on a card shown to the interviewer. VACJEYR_NP is only available for the Nepali samples.
The complementary variables VACJEDAY_NP and VACJEMO_NP report the day of the month and the month of the Japanese encephalitis vaccination according to Vikram Samvat, as recorded on a vaccination card shown to the interviewer.
According to the DHS Recode Manuals, the vaccination date may be coded as "Inconsistent" if the reported date is inconsistent with the date of birth, the date of interview, or the dates of other vaccinations.
To identify all young children who received the Japanese encephalitis vaccination, including those identified through the mother's report rather than a dated vaccination card, see VACJE.
