Description

Definition
DECKIDHCARE (V466) indicates whether the woman can decide by herself to take her child to the doctor when the child is seriously ill.

Unlike several other questions about decision-making that specify which household member primarily makes a decision, DECKIDHCARE is a yes/no question referring only to the woman's decision-making power. The complementary variable DECKIDHEALTH indicates who has the final say on the children's health care.
