Definition
GEO_MW2000 (V101_MW2000) indicates the region of Malawi where the respondent was interviewed. DHS units in the 2000 Malawi survey are equivalent to regions.

Other sample years have their own sample-specific geography variables. There is also an integrated variable, GEO_MW1992_2016, that provides spatially consistent units over time.
