Definition
For young children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTRMZ3 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at a public rural hospital for this illness. This response category is country-specific to Mozambique.
Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
FEVTRMZ3 is combined with FEVTRMZ1 (public central hospital) and FEVTRMZ2 (public provincial hospital) in FEVTRPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 1997 and 2003 Mozambique samples. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FEVTRMZ3 are encouraged to review FEVTRPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
