Definition
For young children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTRML1 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at a government national hospital for this illness. This response category is country-specific to Mali.
Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
FEVTRML1 is combined with FEVTRML2 (government regional hospital) in FEVTRPUBHOS(all public hospitals) for the 2012 Mali sample. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FEVTRML1 are encouraged to review FEVTRPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
