Those who answer "Yes" must answer the second part as well.<br /><br /><span class="em">P-14 "Is (the person's) own biological mother still alive?</span><br /><br /> Biological mother means not a stepmother, or mother by adoption.<br /><br /> Dot one alternative:<br /><br /><div class="i1">Y = Yes<br />N = No<br />D = Don't know</div><br /><br /> Answer "don't know" only if nobody in the household can help you with the correct answer.<br /><br /> If "No" or "Don't know" skip P-14a and go to P-15.<br /><br /> If "Yes" go to Question P-14a.<br /><br /><span class="em">P-14a "Who in this household is (the person's) mother?"</span><br /><br />If the person's mother is a member of this household, give the row number of the mother in the boxes. For example, if the person's mother is the household head, write "01".
