We have to capture the information according to the new provinces, not according to the old divisions, e.g. Gauteng, which is 7 on the list, or Northern Province, which is 9 on the list, and NOT Transvaal, which is not on the pre-coded list.<br /><br />For <span class="em">elderly</span> persons it might be difficult to define the place according to the present provincial division. Ask for the name of the place where the person was born and then locate that place in one of the present provinces. E.g. if born in Kimberley, write 3 = Northern Cape.<br /></svar></p>
