The first spoken language is the national language spoken most often in daily life, outside of foreign languages.</div><br /><div class="i2">Ask the following question: <br />"What is the language that you speak most often?"<br />Record the main spoken language declared.</div><br /><br /><div class="i1">Record "None" if the person does not speak any national language. For new-born children, record the mother's first language. For foreigners, draw an oblique hyphen in the box, and go to column P11.</div><br /></svar>
