<span class="em">Question 30</span>. Where was [the respondent] born?
<br />For census purposes, a person's place of birth refers to the place in which the mother of that person lived when he/she was born, even if the person was born in a hospital, clinic or house outside of the mother's residence.
<br />This question has three possible answers: </p>
<ul class="b1">
<li>If the person replies that he/she was born here, in this municipality, fill in code 1 and then skip to question 34.</li>
<li>If the person replies that he/she was born in another municipality, fill in code 2 and continue with question 31. </li>
<li>If the person replies that he/she was born abroad, fill in code 3 and then skip to question 32.</li>

<li>For example: If the informant replies that Manuel was born in La Vega Hospital and her mother lived in Cotui, then Manuel's place of birth is the municipality of Cotui.</li>
