<p><svar a="all" v="CR00A412"><span class="em">Question 7: Social Security</span><br /><br />With this question the population of the country that is covered or protected by Social Security benefits in any of its types.<br /><br />[To the right of the text is a form.]<br /><br />An "X" should be marked according to the type of social security that the person has access to.<br /><br />Take into account the definition of these categories:<br /><br /><span class="em">1. Salaried</span>: Person from whom the employer <span class="em">deducts from the salary</span> a quota. This type of insurance is obligatory, although some are not salaried workers because their employers omit insuring them. You should also consider employers who together with their employees and are included in the payroll paying in this form their affiliation to the Social Security Fund.<br /><br /><span class="em">2. By their own account or by agreement</span>: They subscribe to it in <span class="em">voluntary</span> form, persons who work for their own account, like employers, non remunerated family member, and includes the unemployed and inactive, paying directly to the C.C.S.S. a monthly quota.<br /><br />Include also workers insured through <span class="em">special contracts between the C.C.S.S. and public and private entities</span> such as associations, labor unions, cooperatives, etc.<br /><br /><span class="em">3. Pensioned</span>: refers to that type of insurance that covers persons who are pensioned <span class="em">under any of the pension types</span> existing in the country, namely: contributive and non-contributive type of the CCSS, Housing type, of the National Magistrate and other public institutions. Both the pensioned are included as well as their family members who have inherited the insurance of the pension of the spouse or husband (in the case of underage persons), due to the death of them and the fact that they do not have any other type of insurance.<br /><br /><span class="em">4. Family member</span>: is the type of insurance that protects <span class="em">family members of the directly insured</span> salaried, pensioned, by their own account or by agreement, in the following cases:<br /><br /><div class="i1">Spouse, children under 18 years old and dependents of the insured, single and without salary.<br />Children and dependents between 18-25 years old who are students.<br />Children and dependents permanently disabled.<br />Parents and other dependent family members.</div><br /><br /><span class="em">5. By account of the State</span>: Persons in scarce economic resources are included here, and who do not have possibilities of being insured through any other form. The law obliges <span class="em">the State to insure this population</span> following a study of their socioeconomic situation. This insurance covers the whole nuclear family of the directly insured person by account of the State: spouse, children under 18 years old, or disabled and dependents.<br /><br /><span class="em">6. Other</span>: Other types of insurance not dealt with in the previous categories such as, students, refugees, and war pensioned.<br /><br /><span class="em">7.
