<p><svar a="all" v="BR10A477"><span class="em">6.54 - During July 2 to July 31, 2010, have you received assistance to get a job</span>?<br />1 - Yes<br />2 - No<br />The purpose of this question is count a person without a job on the week of reference and:<br /><div class="i1">- did not have any work during the reference period of 30 days, but try to get a job within this period, and<br />- after losing his/her last job he/she had on the reference period of 30 days, try to get a job within this period.</div><br /><br />Depending on the situation, record one of two options (yes or no).<br /><br />But what does it mean to "try to get a job"?<br />Some strategies might be considered when a person try to get a job:<br /><ul class="b1">
<li>Consult employers;</li>
<li>Be examined for public jobs;</li>
<li>Apply for public jobs;</li>
<li>Consult an employment agency or labor union;</li>
<li>Consult the National Employment System - SINE (Ministry of Labor and Employment);</li>
<li>Place or answer advertisements;</li>
</ul><br /> <br /><span class="pg">[page 271]</span><br /> <br /><ul class="b1">
<li>Consulting a relative, friend or colleague;</li>
<li>Start his/her own business or become an employer, and</li>
<li>Do any other activity to get a job.</li>
</ul><br /><br />Consider also using the Internet as a way to find a job. For example, emailing a friend, sending CVs to employers through e-mail or registering as a jobseeker at an employment agency website on the Internet.<br /><br />To fill in this question better, see the examples for each response option.<br /><br /><div class="i1">Example: a person worked until June 30, 2010. On that date, he/she resigned and began consulting agencies to get another job. In this case, record 1 - Yes<br /><br />Example: a person worked in a factory for three years but was fired on June 5, 2010. He/she is still without a job, but he/she is not looking for a new one because he/she wants to wait for unemployment. In this case, register 2 - No.</div><br /></svar>
