Interviewer instructions
Enter the respondent's current marital status defined in Question 109 in the first box (2004) of the Column 2 of the calendar. Begin at the year 2004 back to the year that the respondent was 15 years old; you ask about the respondent's changes of her/ his marital status. All marital statuses can be classified as "1" single, "2" currently married, "3" widowed, "4" divorced, "5" separated. If, there is more than one event happened in the same year, record the last event in that year and the earlier event in one year before. If a marital status lasts for an extensive period, enter the marital status code in the first and the last year of a marital status and then connect them with a squiggly line. If the respondent reports that she/he was a single, simply code "1" in the year 2004 and the year that the respondent was 15 years old and connect them with a squiggly line.
