Interviewer instructions
- Highest grade completed (12 years education system) There are two cases:
a. For persons currently attending: Record one grade lower than current grade attending
b. For persons who had stopped school: Record the highest grade completed (had passed or successfully completed). For persons who had not finished a grade of general school education, record one grade lower than uncompleted grade. For person who had finished the last grade but had failed the final examination, record one lower grade than the last grade.

Description

Definition
These regulations are also applied for persons currently attending or who have completed supplementary school or complementary school.
- College: For persons, who have diploma from a junior college, code "13" in the appropriate boxes for the highest education level.
- University: For persons, who have diploma/higher degree from a university, code "14" in the appropriate boxes for the highest education level.
- Illiteracy: Persons who had never attended any school and can not read or write with understanding simple sentences in his/her national or ethnic language or a foreign language.
Remark:
+ For person who has studied in abroad, it is necessary to ask about equal education level to circle appropriate codes.
For persons who currently attending the technical worker school or secondary vocational, record the highest grade completed of general school.
For persons who has not attended any class or school but can read or write in his/her national or ethnic language or a foreign language, code "00" in the appropriate boxes for education.
