Definition
This variable indicates the person's department in Uruguay or country of usual residence.


Some countries were combined together into regional groupings:

"Central American countries" included: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua, Panama, Salvador, and Panama Canal zone.
"USSR" included Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bessarabia (historical region which included areas of Moldova, Ukraine, and Romania), Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Turmenia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
Scandinavia included Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
Spain included Andorra, Baleares Islands, and Canary Islands.
France included Corsica Island and Monaco.
Italy included Cardena Island and San Marino.

Some countries included autonomous regions and territories:
