Abstract | Globally, working for children's well-being has been an important activity for a long time. Conducting surveys, in this field is a recent phenomenon. The survey on children's well-being entitled International Survey of Children's Well-Being (ISCWeB) is a world-wide research study on children's subjective wellbeing. ISCWeB recognizes that children's rights are fundamental to them for ensuring a good childhood and future life chances. It emphasises the need to provide children with an environment in which they can fully grow and attain their highest potential. One of the most overarching factors in assessing whether a particular environment is conducive to children for developing their best potential is to find their own perception of their sense of well-being. This is best understood by asking children directly and allowing them to give an assessment of their own well-being. |
