The peace process between the National Goverment of Colombia and the
guerilla´s gruop FARC, is advancing and perhaps, in 2015 they will sign and
agrement. In this point, is important to highlight the Zona de Reserva Campesina
(Farmers Reserve Areas), as one ot the main policy tools in the rural sector to be
implemented.
These mechanisms have existed for more than 20 years in our legislation,
however, they lack of support as well as from public institutions, and farmers
organizations because of the difficulty to implement measures. If they are
implemented, they would promote the integral rural development in Colombia, as is
asked in one point of negotiation process between the Goverment and the guerilla.
