Abstract | Migration has emerged as a major global policy issue in 2015 following the massive influx of Syrian and other refugees into Europe. However, migration has always been a major phenomenon in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, which is among the first regions in terms of origin and destination for migrants.
