Abstract | This article discusses the factors that influence health status of women in Zambia. The factors that influence the health status of women include educational level, unemployment, poverty, nutrition status, violence against women, gender inequality, Health seeking behaviour, representation in leadership positions, marital obligations and early marriages, socio-cultural factors, reproductive health and maternal morbidity and mortality. The aim of this review is to analyse factors that influence women’s health and suggest strategies for improvement. |
