This study presents a general analysis of youth unemployment at global level, then
they are shown data at Latin American and national level, with generalities obtained
it deepens the study searching the problem in the city of Quito.
For the present study, the information from the National Survey on Employment,
Unemployment and Underemployment (ENEMDU) was used and the information
processing was performed through the SPSS statistical program, which is considered
adequate for database management. Evolution of unemployment and its impact
on the age group between 15 and 24 years, as well as the main policy measures that
have been implemented to combat this social problem.
The results obtained allowed us to deduce a characterization on the labor market in
Quito and obtaining the main causes of why a young man does not have a job
