Abstract | Women empowerment and the movement towards gender equality is a modern phenomenon that continues to develop around the world. To be precise, women empowerment refers to a process of empowering women with all the denied aspects of life. Reforms undertaken in the early 1990s have made India one of the world’s fastest growing economies. However, it is interesting to note that this economic growth had bypassed the poor and vulnerable, especially, women. This paper presents the role of women in developing & expansions of big & small business. Women constitute approximately 50% of total population in the world & nearly 48% of total population in India. Though India could well become one of the largest economies in the world, it is being crippled due to a lack of women's participation. An educated Indian woman will yield a positive impact in the Indian society by contributing positively to the economy & business of the country. They are the important part of the society such as the men. Women leaders are assertive, persuasive & willing to take risks. Their role in Indian economy & business is increased by day to day. In this conceptual study conclusion that women play an important role in business development & economic progress of India. The aim of this paper is studies the existing research data and serves as a framework for future study. |
