Abstract
In contemporary cities, revitalizing the concept of neighborhood is very important because of the human
life`s condition. The topics which are referred as the features of big cities are; human`s loneliness,
weakening sense of home, reduced social interactions, isolationism, weakening attachment to the place and
others like these which revitalizing neighborhood concept can be effective in moderating or eliminating
them. The mosque element has been the consistent and central element in the neighborhoods of Iranian cities
from the oldest times. Mosques as the most outstanding architectural elements emanated from the religion of
Islam has always been with the society from the first times of civic participation of Islam and has a brilliant
history of different performance and impact on the socio-economic and physical structures of society. This
article has evaluated the role of Ahmadieh mosque of Narmak neighborhood in creating and strengthening
urban identity in this neighborhood; With a hybrid approach combining qualitative and quantitative
approaches using tools such as questionnaires and observation, case study, and the results of Hypothesis
tests shows that there is a significant correlation between the socio-cultural actions and social cohesion in
the neighborhood, also The physical features of the mosque has led to strengthening the place interest in the
neighborhood.
