The phenomenon of population concentration in major and big cities in the Middle East, is one of the unique characteristics of this area. An aspect which is growing as a result of the forced increase in population. Jordan is considered as one of the most important examples of this phenomenon. This is because the population increase that resulted from high birth rate and external migrations, lead to the expansion of cities on behalf of the limited arable lands which form a percentage lower than 4% of the area of Jordan. Planning for the future was impossible in Jordan because of unexpected political events in the Middle East, which forced the country to receive migrations formed of hundreds of thousands. This was more than the capacity of the country; this led to the growth in population and urban areas doubling within a rhythm of fifteen years on the expense of small arable land. If this continues the arable land will disappear, the result of housing demand, building activity, urban development and land use. Architects must search for their role of forecasting and planning the future whatever the future is, by finding alternative solutions to defend this small arable land.
