We are looking to account for the internationalization profile Algerian SMEs and see how the government is trying to encourage this type of firms to exceed the country's borders. For a better analysis of the object studied, we based on the main explanatory theories
of the internationalization of SMEs. Our analysis has been deepened by the results of a inquiry of a population grouping a sample of small and medium enterprises operating in the industrial sector, located in the West region of the country. This allowed us to identify obstacles to competitiveness and to examine the internationalization's opportunities of this type of firms.
