Abstract | The world economy of the 21st century must be transformed to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change, value ecosystem services, and internalize environmental costs at the national accounts and enterprise levels. In short, the value of nature must begin to be explicitly recognized. This transformation to sustainability has the potential to generate an innovation boom, but it must simultaneously address the major challenges of social inclusion and equity. |
