Impact of the Industrial Activity on the
Demography in the Neighbouring Rural Area of Dej
Municipium, between 1930 and 2004. Our paper focuses upon
population dynamic in Dej area, on the changes determined by the
industrial activity of the urban centre, along with the other social
and economic changes, especially after 1989. The urban and rural
populations’ features and their behaviour highlight the
suburbanisation process affecting the population in Dej area. The
urban and rural populations’ decrease in the area came together
with other two phenomena: the population ageing and tendency of
feminisation especially in the neighbouring rural space.
