Abstract | Previous studies have indicated that providing information to households about health risks posed by their own drinking water has only modest effects on average demand for technologies to reduce the risk. We designed an intervention that allows us to identify how the effects of information vary depending on a household’s prior level risk, prior beliefs about that risk, and residential location. We observe substantial heterogeneity in the effect of information along each of these dimensions; further elucidating drivers of that heterogeneity will be important for design of more effective health interventions. |
