Definition
For young children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTRTZ13 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment at a private dispensary for this illness. This response category is country-specific to Tanzania.
Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.
FEVTRTZ13 is combined with FEVTRTZ12 (private pharmacy) in FEVTRPRIVDRUG (all private, formal drug sources) for the 2004 and 2010 Tanzania samples.
Additionally, FEVTRTZ13 is combined with FEVTRTZ12 and FEVTRTZ14 (ADDO) in FEVTRPRIVDRUG for the 2015 Tanzania sample.
