For young children who ever had parasitic Guinea worm disease (also known as dracunculiasis), GWORMKIDTRE1 indicates whether the illness was treated by antibiotics. Though antibiotics cannot cure this parasitic disease, antibiotics may treat secondary bacterial infections, reduce inflammation and facilitate worm removal.
