Since 2000 year the State Committee on Statistics has conducted a new Household Budget Survey.
The household survey conducted in all regions of Uzbekistan. The survey is based on the principles of voluntary participation in the selected households. Households that fall into the selection, are examined within a month, after which they are replacing (the rotation). The survey is based on direct survey (interviews) of household members and maintaining the household diary.
In the survey reference period of a single household provides the following questionnaire completion documents:
- Questionnaire to interview the household;
- Diary account of daily expenses (goods and services are encoded by the Classifier of Individual Consumption by Purpose);
- Questionnaire for the final interview;
- Questionnaire for individual interviews.

Program of survey includes the following data collection procedures:
a) After obtaining the consent of the household to participate in the survey, the interviewer filled in the words of the respondent's questionnaire to setup an interview, which covers the demographic characteristics, housing conditions, availability of public services and issues relating to conditions of economic activity;
b) Each of the surveyed households in the two weeks leading diary entries, which are detailed daily records of all cash expenditures on food, non-food goods and services. Also, the quantity of food consumed in the household received without payment and receipt (payment), donation and exchange of non-food items. In addition, the diaries recorded the remains of food in the beginning and the end of Diary;
c) After the surveyed month conducted a survey of households on the final questionnaire, and each member of the household on the individual questionnaire.
Data Access
The use of the datasets must be acknowledged using a citation which would include:
- the identification of the Primary Investigator (including country name)
- the full title of the survey and its acronym (when available), and the year(s) of implementation
- the survey reference number
- the source and date of download (for datasets disseminated online)
