5.7.0 Block 7: Follow up questions for persons employed either in the principal or subsidiary status: In this block an attempt is made to collect information on certain qualitative aspects of the employment of those who are categorised as employed either in the principal or subsidiary status. The aspects to be probed include occupational mobility, extent of under utilisation of labour time, membership in trade unions, nature of employer, etc.
5.7.4 Column (6): Reason for change: In this column, the reason for change will be recorded for those who have changed nature of work or establishment or both i.e., those with codes 1,2 or 3 in col.(5) of this block. The reason codes are as follows.
1. Loss of earlier job due to retrenchment/lay-off
2. Loss of earlier job due to closure of unit
3. For better remuneration
4. No job satisfaction
5. Lack of job security
6. Work place too far
7. Promotion/transfer
9. Others
