To determine the total number of hours actually worked during the reference year (Item 3c) in the absence of actual figures: MULTIPLY the average total number of employed persons (reported in Item 2) by the normal/regular working hours per day (reported in Item 3a) and then by the number of working days per year (reported in Item 3b). ADD to this figure (based on records) the number of overtime hours of workers on ordinary working days and their hours worked when they were required to work on non-working days i.e. rest days, regular holidays and special days during the reference year.
Example: Total hours actually worked during the year: (51 employed X 8 hours per day X 302 days per year) + overtime hours on ordinary working days + hours worked on non-working days = 123, 216 + 2,200 + 275 = 125,691
Note: 8 hours per day, 302 days per year, 2,200 and 275
