Description

Definition
This variable indicates the relationship of the person either to the household head or to the head of their subfamily. Specifically, it indicates relationship to the household head for members of the primary family, for subfamily heads, and for persons in the household not in the primary family or a subfamily. It instead indicates relationship to the subfamily head for members of subfamilies who are not the head of their subfamily. For more details see integrated variables SUBFNUM and SUBFREL.
