<p>In this section, information is obtained for each of the people living in the housing unit.</p>

<p>Before requesting data for each resident, copy the details from Section II. List people and general data, their names, gender, and age, and write them down in the spaces provided. Do not forget to correct the person number when using more than one questionnaire.</p>

<p>For the respondent to know who to provide the information about, start with the sentence: "Now I'm going to ask you about...", and mention the name of the person you previously wrote down.</p>

<p>Apply questions 1 through 11 for all the people who are habitual residents, including children, as well as elderly people.</p>

<p><span class="em">4. Mexican nationality</span>
<br />The purpose of this question is to find out whether or not people born in another country have Mexican nationality.</p>

<p>Read the question and when you get an answer, circle the appropriate code.</p>

<p>A person has Mexican nationality when they are recognized by the Mexican State as a member of this nation.</p>

<p>Mexican nationals are people born abroad who:</p>
<div class="i1">- Their father or mother is a Mexican national born in Mexican territory.<br />- Their father or mother is a naturalized Mexican citizen.<br />- Obtained the citizenship charter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.</div><p>Consider that naturalization is the legal process by which Mexican nationality is granted to people born in another country.</p>

<p>If the answer you get is: "They were born in another country, but have lived in Mexico since they were born", "They have lived in Mexico for a long time" or other answers, ask whether or not they have a document that certifies them as Mexican and record the corresponding code.</p>
