<span class="em">State geostatistical area (SGA)</span>
<br />It is the representation of the territorial extension of the federal entities, defined by geostatistical limits that are close, where possible, to the political-administrative limits.</p>
<p>It refers to the geographic area of each of the country's 32 states, making a total of 32 state geostatistical areas.</p>
<p>It is codified according to the alphabetical order of their official names, with two digits, from 01 onwards, depending on the number of states provided by the laws in force. At this moment, there are 32 states (Aguascalientes 01, Baja California 02... and Zacatecas 32).</p>
<p>In the cartography, state geostatistical areas boundaries are represented by a succession of plus signs (+ + +), in a thick red line.
